Summary

Summary

 

Business Development Support Specialist is the link between the Business Development team, customers, vendors and all departments within the company.  This individual will initiate and manage effective communications between teaming partners, vendors, customers and internal departments for proposal development, capture and pricing support to win new business.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews major deliverables (i.e. functional specs, tech specs, services, etc.) to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met
  • Ensures that client and vendor issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, resolving or escalating issues in a timely fashion to supervision and the appropriate personnel and or department
  • Negotiate vendor terms (pricing, deliverables, lead time, payment terms) to meet both client and company needs
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships while acting as the primary contact for vendors
  • Monitor proposal and critical quote dates to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Obtains vital vendor information necessary for proposal/quote development, including pricing, product specifications, freight quotes, etc.
  • Works with Proposal Team to develop proposal responses to client opportunities and requests for proposals ensuring the proposal responses meet all client requirements
  • Coordinate with Operations, Program Management and Proposal Team on proposal pricing
  • Work with Contracts and Compliance and management in the development of non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements and sub-contracts for opportunities assigned
  • Follow up with customers upon project completion to ensure satisfaction
  • Monitor and report all client and vendor satisfaction on a contract
  • 2D/3D Space planning when requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Knowledgeable in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, CAP, CET, CAD
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

This job operates remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Travel

Travel is required during the business day, out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Project Management, Interior Design, or related field from a four-year accredited college or university, preferred but not required.

OR

Experience in sales, customer service, project management, interior design, and working with government contracts may be substituted for education requirements.
